Courageous Movie Night Launches Bible Study
Our first Family Movie Night saw many new faces with rave reviews for Courageous!
Next, we will sponsor the four-session Courageous Living Bible Study, brought to you by the creators of the movie and Bible study, Fireproof. Simply said, the study gives us a blueprint to make changes in our own families to be stronger as we face the challenges and temptations of life in today’s society. You’ll read real-life examples as well as inspiration directly from the Bible. Christmas Carolers Strike a Chord in the Community
Members of Beautiful Savior joined neighbors in caroling around Kops park on a recent frosty afternoon to share the Christmas spirit in song. Through carols such as "The First Noel," "Silent Night," "Deck the Halls," and, of course, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," these faithful bearers of God's message told the most remarkable true story in history: God became man to live among us. Many Kops Park neighbors responded to the latest Beautiful Savior food drive by leaving bags of non-perishables on their doorstep. In total, the carolers collected an entire wagon full of donations. Praise God for his provisions, and a huge THANK YOU to all the neighbors who gave! Finally, 18 cold and hungry singers returned to the Beautiful Savior church parlors for chili and hot chocolate, full of conversation of Christmas Caroling 2011 and excitment for 2012!
First Friday: Kid Tested, Parent Approved!
 
First Friday, our newest monthly event, is a huge hit for BSLC and Kops neighborhood families. For just $2 per child (out of diapers), parents are given a night off from 5:00-9:00 p.m., knowing that their little ones will start off with a simple supper and an evening of just plain kid fun. For the October, November and December First Friday events, about 23 kids enjoyed the chance to play with neighborhood friends in a safe, relaxed environment. Activities include (but are not limited to) a game night, ping pong, foosball, junior basketball buckets, air hockey, crafts or even a scavenger hunt or movie. There’s even a quiet spot for readers who want to curl up with a good book, and we have some on hand for all ages. Each night so far has been so successful and so enjoyable that for November, we actually decided to stay involved with the activities rather than take new photos -- the kids were really that tuned in and so were we!
The next First Friday parents’ night off at Beautiful Savior is Friday, February 3, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. sharp. Pre-registration is strongly recommended so we can plan for meals! To register, use our online form or call (414) 871-6744 to register by phone.
